Ivory osteoma
Pathology
- Most common benign tumour of skull vault
- Arise from cortical bone and radiological may resenble sclerotic reaction produced by a meningioma
Approach
- Examine as for any lump
- Inspect
- Sessile flat mounts
- Palpate
- Smooth surface
- Bony hard in consistency
- Can move to superficial layers of the scalp
- Percuss
- Auscultate
Management
Leave alone unless symptomatic
